Have You Heard About People selling on Amazon?

When people find out that I sell on Amazon.com, they’re usually surprised. And one of the first things they will ask is “What do you sell?”

The thing is most Amazon sellers won’t tell you exactly what they sell online or their store name within Amazon.

The reason is that if you’re doing well, then they might decide to start selling the same thing and now they are your competitor.

I mean why would you do all the leg work to find a profitable product to sell and then give the info away to a potential competitor.

Amazon gets enough traffic that you don’t need to advertise to people.

So, MOST will stick to generic answers like toys or the home category.

Why Amazon?

  • Amazon.com is the world’s largest retailer; they allow people to sell on their platform and share in that traffic – I could list from wherever I happen to be.
  • Selling on Amazon is a great way to start earning side money and has the potential to turn into a full-blown income- my startup was $0 because I started selling things I already had and grew from there.
  • I was able to work around my schedule and list items whenever I wanted.

Back in 2008, I started selling our old homeschool books, then branched out to yard sale finds and clearance store items.

At first, I was selling on Amazon FBM- Fulfilled by Merchant, which meant I stored, packed, and shipped the items myself.

But later I  heard about people selling on Amazon FBA who didn’t have to ship all their orders… like I was doing.

That was the one thing that was holding me back from being able to grow in that business.  If I wanted to make more, I had to sell more and to sell more I had to list more and the more that sold, the more I had to ship…and on and on it went.

I was spending an enormous amount of time shipping items, not to mention I was running out of storage space at my house.

What is Amazon FBA?

Amazon FBA- Fulfilment By Amazon, simply put, means Amazon stores, packs and ships your NEW products.

I learned how to sell on Amazon by taking this course here, How to Sell on Amazon from TheSellingFamily.com.

They have the best training course out there on the market for people wanting to learn how to sell on Amazon FBA.

You can see all the details of the course right here at, Amazon Boot Camp.

I took the course, and I can honestly say it saved me a ton of future mistakes.

The information I learned in this course was invaluable, and  I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to sell on Amazon.
